With over 30 kilometres open to fishing and 1,500 fish per kilometre, the Columbia is a fly fisher’s dream.
Columbia River Fly Fishing
Located on the upper Columbia River, in the West Kootenays, near Castlegar and Trail BC, Canada.
We offer day trips on the Columbia River in the Spring and Fall fly-fishing for Rainbow Trout. During April, May, September and October we can take groups of up to 4 anglers. Fish in one of our 18ft G3 center console jet boats fishing 2 anglers per boat. Our day trips include 6-8 hours of guided fishing. Our guide Bruce (Spey) guides strictly in the fall, taking up to 2 anglers in his boat. Meet one of our guides at the specified boat ramps in the morning and spend the day on the river!
Our equipment consists of top of the line Orvis rods and reels and we have both single handed and spey rods for our guests to use.
The Columbia River is a huge river with trout that are the landlocked descendants of the steelhead that used to travel the river up into Canada before the Coulee Dam was built in 1942. There are a lot of trout in the river between 16” -22” range and there are also some trout in the 30” plus class.
If spey is you thing, join Bruce Kruk. He is a world class spey caster and instructor and has been fishing this river for 20 plus years mainly specializing in spey fishing and casting. Bruce likes to target big fish on the swung fly and fishes during the fall.

Fishing with Matt:
Matt run’s an 18ft center console sled with a 80 Yamaha jet and a electric motor. Matt is a professional guide, both salt and fresh water. These trips are all single handed full days, targetting Rainbow Trout. We now have a 2nd guide and guide boat on our team allowing us to take 4 anglers at a time, fishing 2 anglers per boat.
Fishing with Bruce:
A day on the water with Bruce will have you drinking some fine coffee and working on your casting and fly presentation with the chance to hook up with some trophy rainbows.
I will get you into the groove of speycasting, no matter what skill level you’re at, and help you read the big water that is the Columbia.
Lots of laughs and learning to be had as we travel the river in my 18ft center console jet sled looking for the big boys.
