A BRIEF OVERVIEW
Fishing with Glen Sather and Doug Risebrough

Our saltwater fishing season begins in May and ends the first week in September. The salmon fishing in the spring and summer is fantastic, as the salmon runs from the Columbia River system are feeding in the surrounding waters on their way south. Weather permitting, both offshore and inshore fisheries are possible and productive mostly because our guides know where to go and when to be there. Halibut fishing is also excellent all season. The untouched waters located in Kyuquot Sound are unique and are very productive with consistent catches of 35 to 60 pound Halibut all season. Only a few select places on the west coast of BC support a fishery like Kyuquot Sound.

George Hamilton and guests after a day of fishing

A typical day fishing is 8-10hrs on the water, we start the day salmon fishing and once you have your daily limit of salmon we head out bottom fishing for halibut or lingcod. Once you catch your daily limit of bottom fish we generally head for the dock, where we clean and ice your catch!  We have 4 Grady-White Gulfstreams equipped with the best salmon and halibut gear, all boats are setup with Islander reels. All of our boats are guided with polite and professional guides.  These boats are the perfect size for fishing the west coast of Vancouver Island, safe, dry and very comfortable.

Our river fishing season begins mid September.  We change our focus from ocean fishing to fly-fishing the rivers that flow into Kyuquot Sound.  These beautiful pristine rivers have very healthy returns of wild coho. We access these rivers by jet boat or inflatable rafts.  Because of the remoteness of these rivers, there are no other anglers fishing. This is a very special fishery.  We will be operating from mid-september to November 1st, offering 3, 4, or 5 day all inclusive trips.
